Connecting the green dots…
A big shout out to Arwa Aburawa and others from The Green Prophet for interviewing me on my thoughts on the environmental challenges in Southeast Asia and the role that women play in it. What an honour it is to be featured along side other awesome green Muslims like Ibrahim Abdul Matin, Kristiane Backer and the ever-so […]

Healthy Rice Paradise
The thought of eating balls of rice somehow reminds me of the old trick to do when you’ve accidentally swallowed on a bone. (Sorry if that sounded random but it makes perfect sense to me!). QQ Rice offers big (triangle or oval-shaped) balls of rice, with 5 fillings of your choice. And yes, there’s a […]

Hi Mom! I’m on Eleven and Muzlimbuzzzzz…
How awesome is that? I got interviewed by NTUMS’s Eleven and MuzlimBuzz.sg! Thanks very much folks, for listening to my two cents worth on the need to increase environmental awareness and action amongst Muslims. It is my hope that such messages will in time be shared further and ultimately reach a critical mass for a […]

I love them Veggies
I’m sure many will agree that today’s downpour on our concrete island brought out the “lazy bum syndrome” in us. So lazy that you just want to curl up in bed and snooze the whole day. So lazy that you can’t be bothered to whip up a meal in the kitchen. But really, it’s not […]

Jom masak-masak!
I just can’t get enough of Artichoke’s Beetroot Tzatziki. So I decided to make it myself! Some beetroot mixed with a dollop of Greek yoghurt. And for the crunchy coating, I improvised with a mix of cashew nuts and homemade “bawang goreng” (fried onion – a staple garnishing found in many Malay households) nicely grounded […]

Intellectual Indulgence
Can I just say that I’m not really a fan of e-books? And while I appreciate the invention of e-journals and PDFs for making my professional and academic life a lot easier, staring at a computer screen seems to be taking up way too much of my life. EVIL COMPUTER!! Of late I’ve been trying […]

Local Artisan Gelato!
Orange blossom honey gelato. It’s not only deeeeeelish, it’s locally made! And I love the fact that Artichoke (on Middle Road) supports locally made gelato and sorbet. Try it out at Artichoke. Or get it straight from Lattee Miele. Die die, must try!

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s…
FOOD WASTE! Seriously people, if you’re not a big eater, then don’t order something heavy – like Nasi Lemak. Get a curry puff, roti kaya or salad instead. Or if you really need a Nasi Lemak, then ask for a smaller portion (eg. Less rice). FACT #1: Singapore’s food supply is largely dependent on imports. […]

Saturday Arvo Sights
So after a sumptuous meal at Veganburg, a pal and I decided to head somewhere for coffee. eL pal decides to bring me to check out Loysel’s Toy Cafe. Situated along a quiet lane off Kallang Road, the serene surroundings of this place was just lovely 🙂 Ture also houses several other offices… such as […]
